“School libraries are the foundations of our culture – not luxuries.”
The library of KV AFS Yelahanka is located on the first floor of the school building. It is a well-furnished and fully equipped facility with comfortable seating arrangements that can accommodate up to 60 students. Spanning an area of over 1,000 square feet, the library provides a conducive environment for reading and learning.
Library operations, including issue and return of books, are efficiently managed through the E-Granthalaya software. The collection comprises 20,740 books, along with 23 magazines and 3 newspapers, catering to the diverse interests and academic needs of students and staff. A rich collection of multimedia resources further enhances the learning experience.
The library functions from 7:50 a.m. to 2:10 p.m., following an open access system to encourage independent use and exploration of resources. For primary classes, a Class Library System and a Hanging Library are maintained to promote reading habits from an early age. A variety of reading and literary activities are organized each year to foster a lifelong love for books and learning among students.
